alexs bday take two

tonight was the perfect bday date!
we went to a place called caren's wine and cheese bar
it was so nice. the staff were very friendly and the decor was really sleek. we split a fondue to start, it basically could have been a meal. it was so decadent and we went through two baskets of bread.

Alex had the stilton stuffed burger with potato gratin and i had wild mushroom risotto. Neither of us could finish our meal, not even half so we d.b'd it. lunch tomorrow! but goddamn was the risotto good, so creamy and flavorful. and it looked nice too.




i love alexs eyes, so hesitant, she gave that burger a good go but in the end the burger won.





this one is pretty, and take a look at my fancy juice. the waitress didnt want me to just have boring water so she made up a white cranberry/pineapple mix for me.

we took some fancy shots around yorkville while we were trying to walk off our meal before the movie.


oh yeah the movie. it was great. apparently people are not liking the newest wes anderson film "the darjeeling ltd". so much. I think people just have a problem with auteurs. The movie is great. Its probably going to come second to royal tennenbaums for me. it was very emotional and as alex said, full of symbolism. it was very wes andersonish - the soundtrack, composition, pacing, and so on. ill never get tired of his style. and his writing (and owen wilsons AND jason schartzmans) writing was very strong. Id recommend this film to anyone, W.A. fan or not.

So i took public transit for the first time in months today. like at least 6 months. it still sucks!
but you cant tell here, were trying to make the subway look fun...
heres alex and her fave feline, the fonz... and then another of alex leaving. My internet was down and it got scary for awhile, luckily al was able to tell me how to fix it and tragedy was averted.
now its way to late. im meeting mel for coffee and hopefully scones in the morning. pumpkin scooooonesss.
im not feeling so hot, my bad leg has been acting up since ive been weaning myself off the one drug. i hope it gets better because i dont want this bloating anymore. anyways, i gotsta get to bed. im out like trout.
